How to make a GIF from an MP4

Gifbuz Create converts an MP4 (or MOV) into a GIF in the browser. You pick a clip, trim it, optionally add a caption, then publish it to your channel.

Limits that apply

  • Source video: up to 100MB and 10 minutes
  • Finished GIF: between 0.3 and 30 seconds
  • Formats: MP4, MOV, or an existing GIF

Steps

  1. Sign in, then open Create.
  2. Choose a local .mp4 or paste a direct file URL that ends in .mp4, .mov, or .gif. YouTube, TikTok, and other video pages are not supported.
  3. On the trim screen, set the start and end so the cut is 30 seconds or less, then continue to decorate.
  4. Add text if you want, then add a title, tags, and visibility and publish.

Encoding the decorated clip can take tens of seconds for a long trim — that is the server turning the recording into a GIF, not a failed upload. Shorter clips finish faster.
