How to make a GIF from an MP4
Gifbuz Create converts an MP4 (or MOV) into a GIF in the browser. You pick a clip, trim it, optionally add a caption, then publish it to your channel.
Limits that apply
- Source video: up to 100MB and 10 minutes
- Finished GIF: between 0.3 and 30 seconds
- Formats: MP4, MOV, or an existing GIF
Steps
- Sign in, then open Create.
- Choose a local .mp4 or paste a direct file URL that ends in .mp4, .mov, or .gif. YouTube, TikTok, and other video pages are not supported.
- On the trim screen, set the start and end so the cut is 30 seconds or less, then continue to decorate.
- Add text if you want, then add a title, tags, and visibility and publish.
Encoding the decorated clip can take tens of seconds for a long trim — that is the server turning the recording into a GIF, not a failed upload. Shorter clips finish faster.
