GIF vs sticker — when to use each

On Gifbuz, both GIFs and stickers are animated files you publish to your channel. The difference is transparency.

GIF

A regular GIF fills a rectangle. Every pixel is opaque (or a solid background). Reactions, clips from video, and memes are usually GIFs. Create from MP4 always produces this kind of file.

Sticker

A sticker is a GIF with a transparent background so it sits on top of chat, stories, or other media. On Upload, use the sticker control. Gifbuz checks the file for transparency. If none is found, you can still publish it as a normal GIF.

Which should you pick?

  • Video clip or camera take — Create → GIF
  • Character or emoji with a cut-out background — Upload as sticker
  • Already-exported GIF, no transparency — Upload as GIF

Browse sticker-style results from search, or start from categories and filter what you need. For file size and duration, see how to upload a GIF.
