How to add text to a GIF
Gifbuz burns text into the animation on the decorate step — the same canvas used after you trim a video or start from a GIF. The caption is part of the file you publish, not a separate overlay on the page.
From a video
- Open Create, add an MP4, MOV, or a direct file URL, and trim to 30 seconds or less.
- Continue to decorate. Drag the text on the canvas, change the font, fill, and stroke.
- Keep captions short — the editor caps how many characters you can put on the GIF.
- Add a title and tags, then publish.
From an existing GIF
Choose a .gif on Create (or paste a direct .gif URL). You skip trim and go straight to decorate, then the same publish step.
Publishing re-encodes the canvas so the text stays in the GIF. A longer clip takes longer to encode. If you only need to host a GIF with no edits, Upload is faster.
